Happy Thanksgiving from Penny Reid

Author Penny Reid pretty much rocks my world.  Her books are fabulous.  Her Facebook posts are entertaining.  Her face-to-face conversation is witty.  Pretty much I have a girl crush on her awesome awkwardness.  Except for the knitting part.  That looks boring to me.   (Chalk it up to too much ADD on my part.)

So it should come as no surprise that her latest creation, "Scenes from the City: A Knitting in the City Wintertime Surprise" was so enjoyable.

There are two reasons "Scenes from the City" stand out from the normal, everyday, hum drum reading we all do.

#1 - It's not a novel or even a novella.  It's a series of short stories about each of the couples we've met through her "Knitting in the City" series.  So we get to catch up with Janie and Quinn, Elizabeth and Nico, Sandra and Alex, and Ashley and Drew.  We also get a sneak peek into how Fiona and Greg met.

#2 - It will ONLY be on sale until December 15.  That's right, December 15 is the last day it will be available.  Ever.  So don't miss out.

You may be wondering why Ms. Reid would do something so ridiculous as to sell a book for only a couple of weeks.  Well, the answer is simple really.  On December 16, all the proceeds are going to "Toys For Tots".  That date is still early enough that the donation can be used for this year's Christmas celebrations, which I think is pretty darn cool!  See?  She's a gem in more ways than one.  (On a side note, if you'd like to donate more than just the proceeds of your purchase, you can make a donation directly to Toys For Tots by clicking here.)

Whether you've read the "Knitting in the City" series or not, you'll enjoy these stories.  I actually haven't read Sandra and Alex's story yet - I know!  Don't hate me! - and I was still wildly entertained by their short story.  Ms. Reid's writing is witty and smart and no two characters are even remotely alike.

So grab a copy while it's available by clicking here.  It's only $.99.
